Your recipes and your privacy.
Updated October 5, 2026. This notice covers the RecipeSnag website and account sign-in. You can try a recipe link without an account.
How we use what you submit
We read the link you submit to put together ingredients and steps. Supporting services help us read recipe content, run the website and store backups. We share only what those services need for that work. We don't sell recipe content or use it to train our own or third-party models.
Public recipe links
A public recipe link may become a shareable RecipeSnag page, with credit and a link to the original. We may keep and reuse the source content while that page is published. The shared recipe doesn't identify who submitted it.
Use the page's report link to request a correction or removal. Deleting your preview doesn't remove a shared recipe.
Temporary previews
Previews expire within two hours of starting. Finished results are available for no more than one hour, within that two-hour limit. Nothing is automatically added to your cookbook. Previously submitted pasted text and its results stay private; the website currently accepts links only.
You can cancel an active preview or choose Delete this preview in the same browser tab. Deletion makes it unavailable immediately, and temporary copies are removed within 15 minutes. Interrupted cleanup is completed within 24 hours.
Service records
We keep service records, such as how long a request took and whether it succeeded, for up to 30 days, without recipe content. Product and service analytics exclude recipe content, submitted source links and website names, filenames, preview access keys, raw IP addresses and identifiers that track a device over time. We don't record your browsing sessions or automatically record your interactions.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics on public pages, including shared recipes, to count visits and measure loading performance. Cloudflare receives public page paths, referrers, browser and device information, country and performance measurements. Query strings are excluded. This analytics does not use cookies or track you across websites. Account pages, recipe-report forms, operations and development environments are excluded. Submitted recipe links, preview access keys and form contents are not sent as analytics events.
Sign in with Apple
When Apple sign-in is available and you choose it, Apple verifies your authorization and gives us an identifier and verified email address. You can choose Apple's private relay address to keep your real email private. We use the identifier to connect your web and iPhone access to the same account. Matching email addresses never automatically merge accounts; you can explicitly link Apple after signing in to your existing RecipeSnag account.
We keep Apple's identifier while your account is linked, and encrypt the Apple refresh credential used for revocation. Apple authorization codes and identity tokens are used to verify sign-in and are not retained in account records or analytics. Web sign-in uses a secure transaction cookie that expires after five minutes, plus a protected account session cookie. Apple can notify us when forwarding or account consent changes; we keep a hashed notification reference, without its message body, for replay protection. You can manage Apple's access and relay forwarding in your Apple account settings. Account removal requests and recovery help go to our support inbox below.
Questions or help
Our contact form accepts support, privacy and security requests. We keep your message and optional reply address in restricted service records for up to 90 days. Our email service sends a minimal notification to the support team; submitted messages and addresses are excluded from analytics.
We use Maileroo to deliver account verification, password reset, security notices and household invitations. Delivery requires your email address and the message, including a temporary action link when needed. We do not track opens or clicks in these emails. Pending message contents are encrypted in our service and removed after provider acceptance or within 24 hours; delivery metadata is kept for up to 30 days. Mail delivered to your inbox remains subject to your mailbox provider's retention settings.
